According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first seven months of this year, Turkey’s hot-rolled coil (HRC) exports totaled around 956,000 tons, dropping by 18.7% compared to the corresponding period a year ago.
The export volume was worth around US$917 million during the period, a slight year-on-year increase of 1.4%.
Among them, the top three export destinations were Egypt (around 211,000 tons, a year-on-year surge of 654.8%), Italy (around 173,400 tons, a year-on-year drop of 47.4%), and Bulgaria (around 94,700 tons, a year-on-year jump of 205.1%).
In August alone, Turkey exported roughly 179,000 tons of HRC, up by 9% month on month and sliding by 6.8% year on year. The export value was US$173 million, a month-on-month increase of 4.4% and a year-on-year drop of 2%.
