According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 121,500 tons of cold-rolled flat products in February this year, falling by 26% compared to the previous month but hiking by 24% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 42,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 13.8% and a year-on-year growth of 4.5%. Other major import sources included Mexico (around 19,200 tons), Vietnam (around 12,500 tons), Taiwan (around 11,500 tons), and Russia (around 11,400 tons).
During the period, the import value totaled around US$188 million, down by 20.7% month on month and surging by 106.8% year on year.
