They are widely available from numerous suppliers, particularly from manufacturers in China.
The Photovoltaic Aluminum frames are generally made from extruded aluminum profiles, with specific alloys 6005 and 6063, often with T5 or T6 temper. Aluminum 6005A is often considered the best choice due to its balance of strength, easy extrusion, and excellent surface finish. Aluminum 6061 has higher strength than 6063 but is more difficult to extrude.

On December 13, 2025, the Turkish Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2025/41, making a preliminary affirmative anti-dumping determination on photovoltaic aluminum frames originating from China (Turkish: fotovoltaik paneller için alüminyum çerçeveler).
The announcement imposes provisional anti-dumping duties/guarantees ranging from 14.79% to 31.40% of the CIF value on the products in question (see attached table). The measures take effect from the date of the announcement and are valid for a period not exceeding six months, until the final determination is issued. The Turkish tariff code for the products in question is 8541.90.00.00.11.
